A GIANT fair at Whiteman Park on September 5 aims to help raise awareness of neural tube defect spina bifida.
The Spina Bifida Association of WA is organising the event, which will include craft and other stalls, a ute club and other car clubs at the Motor Museum, a bouncy castle and sausage sizzle.
There will be a petting zoo, remote controlled cars and a tram ride through the park. Fairy floss, popcorn, drinks and other food will be available at the fair and Whiteman Park.
There will also be a competition to name the association’s new mascot.
The event will fundraise for the association so it can continue providing services to people with spina bifida, their families and carers through support, activities, education, respite camps, subsidies, driving lessons, advocacy and support. It supports about 600 families across WA with these services.
The association hopes the fair and car club display will become an annual event.
