REMEMBERED for offering help for events and occasions, Tracey Johnson has posthumously received the Yanchep Two Rocks Association citizen of the year award at a ceremony last Saturday.
The belly-dancing teacher died of cancer last August and Yanchep Two Rocks Recreation Association secretary Julie Otremba said the judges considered her a worthy recipient in honour of her commitment to the community.
“The judges felt her vivacious and generous personality and caring nature with the kids she taught made her a winner,” she said.
Cherie Morris, one of the others trying to keep the Kisamra Belly Dancing Group Tracey started together, said the students were doing a special performance at the Capricorn Festival in honour of their teacher.
