Carolyn Turner, general manager, Leukaemia Foundation, Balcatta
ON behalf of the Leukaemia Foundation in WA I sincerely thank your readers who participated in and supported the World’s Greatest Shave in March this year.
Celebrating our 12th anniversary of “Shave” this year, the participation of your readers and other members of the local community has once again seen a fantastic result in fundraising efforts.
Each day the Foundation provides “home away from home” accommodation, services and education programs free to patients and families.
“Shave” funds will help meet the ever-increasing community demand for our support that sees one Australian diagnosed with leukaemia, lymphoma or myeloma every hour of every day. Every two hours, someone loses their life to blood cancer.
For the 17 West Australians who are projected to be diagnosed with a form of leukaemia this week, your readers support of “Shave” will make all the difference as we continue to deliver our Vision to Cure and Mission to Care.
We look forward to continuing to benefit from the generous support of the local community at our World’s Greatest Shave 2011.
